A Couple of My Kids

January 30, 2009

This might be the last time you see Maddison’s teeth for a while, the braces go on next week.  I snapped a couple of her and Ben, trying out my new space I made in my house.  I love it, and can’t wait until it’s portable.

Playing with backdrops

January 25, 2009

I made my boys pose for me yesterday so I could play around with my backdrops.  I think these will come in handy at some point, I’m sure, but I still really love the uniqueness that your surroundings adds to a picture.  For now I am just trying different colors to see which is my favorite.

Seriously, I am thinking about getting a second home in London, just so I can take children’s portraits there.  This is my third and lets be real honest, probably final (at least for a while) overseas client.  Who knew there were that many folks from JC living in London, but fortunately for me, family brought them home for the holidays and I got to capture some great faces.  Here are a few from todays session.  It took a second for Mr. J to warm up, but once warm, he was a total ham.

Vintage Picture Plays

January 19, 2009

abbotts70simg_08512Okay so I am getting a little addicted to this new 70′s action that I have.  I took these pics of my friends baby the other day and her big sister looks just like her momma.  I am betting that her mom could go digging through old photos and find a picture of her and one of her siblings and it would look very much like this.  Anyway, I’ve just been playing around with it today and thought I’d share.

I was playing around with pictures, trying to get that vintage look.  I didn’t go the polaroid route, but I think, given the right frame this could totally pass for a polaroid.  We are sort of having a lazy Sunday, the boys are at their grandparents building the mega marble mania with Papa, so I am just sitting here with the dogs playing with pictures.  Our little dog Libby has had three seizures today, so we’re trying to keep the house quiet so she stays calm.  Tomorrow it’s off to the vet to get medication for her.

Ice

January 17, 2009

Since this 40 degree weather feels like a heat wave after the -4 earlier in the week, I ventured outside to take some pics of the ice in our creek. I look at it everyday from my kitchen window and just think it is so pretty, so I thought I’d share.

A Sneak Peak of Little MJ

January 14, 2009

Here’s one from the baby session I did yesterday.  I am still hard at work on them, but I thought I’d put one up.  This little stinker was wide awake the entire time pretty much.

London’s Calling….

January 14, 2009

Our friends are currently stationed in London with the Army, but were home for a little while this past week.  I got to take pics of their beautiful daughter, which, I must say, she could be a model with the eyes and the hair.

I got to take pics of this little cutie, who is on my baby plan. I had to shoot one so we could have a then and now shot. Same bow, similar pose same beautiful eyes. It is so fun to watch them grow. She is a little beauty isn’t she?
